St. Mary’s Sr. Sec. School, Bazpur

“A Catholic educator is a person who gives testimony by his or her life” (Miller, 2006).

As we enter the second decade of this century, we recognize that there are significant trends impacting our lives. These trends challenge our notions of life, family, values, etc. Our students live in a dramatically different world than the one in which most of today’s adults grew up. Advances in technology, changes in our demographics, globalization of our economy, and the contradictions in societal values make the need of a vibrant, relevant, value-oriented Catholic education more urgent than ever.

To this end, we, at St. Mary’s Sr. Sec. School, Bazpur are seriously committed to guide the ongoing evolution, direction and development of our students and provide them with the tools and direction they need to function amid these challenges, in alignment with the guiding values of the Gospel.

Formation of the young is a joint venture of the parents and the teachers. So, we take special initiatives towards the empowerment of the parents and develop in them the skills of ‘conscious parenting’. On the other hand, we focus on building up the professional as well as the ethical caliber of our teachers by organizing various in-service training programmes for them at regular basis.

The holistic formation of our students is the single focus of our education. For this purpose, we lay their foundation on the eternal values and build up their beliefs, values, and experiences on the motto ‘Truth and Love’. Special attention is paid on preparing them to meet the challenges of adolescence, media, and various other modern trends.

During the Golden jubilee year of our school 2014-2015, we lived the jubilee motto ‘Quality enhancement in the lives of all’ by organizing various life oriented programmes for different sections of the society.

For the present academic session 2015-2016, the school has chosen to focus very specially on the theme – ‘Being Truthful.’ This is the need of the hour considering the compromises that the modern culture is inclined to make in all spheres of life.

We strive to perpetuate the Gospel values, on which our founders laid the foundation of this institution nearly half a century ago, continuously evolving in our mission of education, and deeply committed to the development of the whole person, since in Christ, the perfect one, all human values find their fulfillment and unity.

“The whole purpose of education is…to turn mirrors into windows.”   Sydney J. Harris
